Football legends, Fathers Who Football, have taken their creaking limbs to Patcham Place after an 11 year residency at Preston Park. The Saturday morning friendly match, which has become a park institution, is now seeking new recruits for a kick-about at their new ‘theatre of dreams’ a mile up the London Road.

It was residents of Hythe Road, led by Varndean teacher, Malcolm Burden, who originally launched the session in 2006. They quickly attracted an enthusiastic bunch of locals keen to turn up and stretch their legs on Saturday morning.

We now have an incredible mix of players from all walks of life including comedians, psychologists and firemen. Most incredibly we have even devised our own pub game, involving numbers and pork scratchings, which is being considered for television by STV.
